Overnight excursion to the Kawah Ijen (lonely crater) volcano and lake near Banyuwangi and the Belawan Hot Springs and Waterfalls. Mount Ijen is home to the rare “blue fire” phenomenon, where you can witness dancing blue flames from the high pressure release of sulfuric gasses. This phenomenon is known to occur in only two places world wide.
The Kawah Ijen crater lake is the largest acid lake in the world, and one of the most spectacular views you will ever experience.
Rough Itinerary and estimated time schedule
Day One
10:00-11:00: Pickup at your hotel, and transport to Gilimanuk Harbor.
14:00- 14:30: Arrival at Gilimanuk Harbor and board ferry to Ketapang Harbor in Banyuwangi, East Java.
16:00-16:30: Arrival at Ketapang Harbor and board transportation to Susu Village Hotel at trekking base camp.
18:30-19:00: Arrival at base camp, check-in, dinner, and rest.
Day Two
00:00-00:30: Transportation to Pal Tuding, the starting point for the Kawah Ijen trek.
01:00-01:30: Arrival at Pal Tuding starting point. Safety briefing and orientation with mountain guide. Begin trek.
03:00-03:30: Arrive at the top of the Kawah Ijen rim, and begin descent to the crater. Explore the surroundings, witness the unique blue-fire phenomenon, and the early morning view of the crater lake.
05:00-06:00: Enjoy the sunrise, breakfast, and a breathtaking view of the turquoise sulfuric crater lake. Possibly hike in for a closer look at the lake (depending on your fitness level and health).
07:00-07:30: Begin descent to the Pal Tuding finishing point.
09:00-09:30: Arrival at the finishing point and boarding transportation to the waterfall and hot springs at Belawan.
09:30 -10:00: Arrival at Belawan, visit the beautiful waterfall, and relax at the hot springs.
11:00-11:30: Board transportation back to the base camp hotel.
Noon: Arrival at base camp hotel, check-out, and lunch.
13:00-14:00: Board transportation for return trip to Bali.
18:00-19:00: Estimated arrival back to your hotel in Bali, and the conclusion of the tour package.
